Samvel Sarkisyan

Samvel Sarkisyan is a skilled jazz drummer of Armenian descent who grew up in Russia. From an early age, Samvel exhibited a promising future in the jazz industry. He completed a Bachelor’s degree in Music Performance from Prince Claus Conservatoire in the Netherlands and continued his studies at Queens College in New York where he received a Master’s in Jazz Performance. He was awarded the Andrea Elkenbrancht Scholarship in 2015 and the Armenian General Benevolent Union scholarship in 2016. Samvel has toured internationally and appeared globally in various notable music festivals, including the Saratoga Jazz Festival, Xerox Rochester International Jazz Festival, Triumph of Jazz International Jazz Festival, and the ELB Jazz festival, to name a few. Samvel Sarkisyan can be found playing at jazz clubs all across the East Coast with the Joe Locke Quartet, Misha Piatigorsky Trio and the Springlight Quartet, at venues like Jazz Standard, Jazz At Lincoln Center, Zinc Bar, 55 Bar, and Jazz Forum.
